Pre-Marital Counseling

Premarital Counseling is an important way for engaged couples to learn more about themselves, their partners, and their relationship before they are married. It usually consists of about 5-8, 50 minute couples counseling sessions with a counselor. The goal is to impart new skills, wisdom and a foundation of understanding for continued growth beyond the counseling office. We want to make sure couples are prepared for marriage from a Biblical perspective and have wisely considered all the factors in deciding the right marriage partner for life. All couples wishing to be married by NCM must first complete the pre-marital counseling program.

To inquire, please contact Leah at or 412-661=1919 ext. 2

In addition to pre-marital counseling, there are several other steps that must take place when planning marriage through NCM. Leah Kirkland is called to the specific purpose of wedding planning. She is happy to give planning advice, will schedule you for pre-marital counseling with a pastor, and  then get your wedding date scheduled with one of our ordained ministers. Our facilities are available for rental to members of our church family.

For more information or to start planning your wedding with one of our ministers, please contact Leah (Wedding Planner) at or 412-277-1459 or 412-661=1919 ext. 2

*The first step towards a wedding ceremony at NCM is to arrange an initial interview with clergy. This is intended for your protection and blessing. Marriage covenants must observe Scripture if they are to enjoy God’s blessing.

*A marriage is a covenant to be special treasures to each other and therefore faithful to each other. Interviewing clergy will inquire into matters such as your shared faith in Christ, previous marital experiences, family dynamics, and present living situations. According to God’s Word, it will be determined if you will be formally approved for marriage at NCM.

Important note: The interview should occur before you make any formal announcement of your wedding, reserve any facilities, or contract with service providers. Should the guidelines of Scripture necessitate any delay or reconsideration, we would want to spare you of possible financial loss and/or social embarrassment.  Please fill out the form below to arrange the initial interview.  Someone will contact you.

*A covenant is a contract, an agreement, between two parties. When God is one of those parties, it is a very serious contract, a sacred agreement. In fact, God looked at the Old Covenant as a "marriage" contract between Himself and Israel. Through the prophet Jeremiah, He tells Israel, "I am married to you" (Jeremiah 3:14). He considered Israel to be His wife! Almost a millennium after the covenant's ratification, Jeremiah quotes God as He remembers the events of Mount Sinai: "the kindness of your youth, the love of your betrothal, when you went after Me in the wilderness" (Jeremiah 2:2).

In Ezekiel 16:8, the prophet Ezekiel, quoting God, connects the Old Covenant with marriage:

When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine.
