Hands for Hope Life Skills

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13). Life skills is an essential part of being able to meet the challenges of everyday life for people, including the poor, distressed or underprivileged. 


GRIP

(Grief Relief Intervention Program) counseling aids children, youth and families who face trauma and overwhelming feelings of grief and loss due to violence and homicide survival that focus on the ripple effects of traumatic loss on people and communities.


Encourages healthy attitudes, behaviors, and lifestyles, and promotes self-sufficiency and social competence. Links participants to non-medical support.

BOB (Brothers Overcoming Barriers)

Helps males escape the cycle between poverty, depression, violence, and dependence through group support and a combination of life skills activities to improve health and well-being, while garnering the skills and supports to be self-sufficient.



EXHALE

Group support for mothers with children under the age of 18. Develops life skills and supports to reduce stress, remove focus barriers, strengthen families and enforce positive parenting.

A family relationship conflict resolution support group for mothers with children under the age of 18 or children aging out of the foster care system. Provides prevention/intervention services for strengthening families that lead to child well-being, family stability, academic success and self-sufficiency.

PROOF (Professional Resolutions & Outreach Organized for Females)

Purpose-driven support group for aspiring women clothed with strength and dignity. Helps to remove barriers to motivate, restore & renew.  

Court-Ordered PARENTING SKILLS

Positive Discipline Parenting Classes for mothers and dads with babies, toddlers and truant students. Highly respected "Certificate of Completion" satisfies court orders with judge, and family professionals.

A support group that helps female teens, develop critical skills and supports for good nutrition, self-esteem and self-worth leading to acceptance, purpose, healthy behavior and academic progress.
A conflict resolution support group that help female teens, ages 12-19 develop critical skills and supports for good nutrition, self-esteem and self-worth leading to acceptance, purpose, healthy behavior and academic progress to ensure self-sufficient lives.  



Family Reading Program

NCM Read-Out-Loud distribute books to participants in grades Pre-K to 12 to encourage families to make reading aloud a part of everyday life.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Facilitates supervised activities that helps youth understand how their behavior impacts others, the consequences for their actions and equips them with skills and supports for positive transformation.
