In 1996, Nabhi Christian Ministries—through its community outreach arm, Concerned Citizens of Greater Pittsburgh—organized and mediated the city’s first and only gang peace rally with its first grant from Best Health Care. Community members and city leaders gathered at Highland Park’s Rhododendron Pavilion as rival groups declared a ceasefire and truce, sparking a wave of peace that drew national attention. This moment showed what was possible when communities united for the sake of their youth. The rally remains a reminder of the hope and healing that can happen when people choose peace.
