NCM Equip Saints for the Work of Ministry, for Building up the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:1)

The Holy Spirit uses the words of Scripture through sound teaching to make the bible relevant to our daily lives, to sanctify us through its practical application (John 17:17)  just as a skilled worker uses a variety of tools to build a beautiful building. By praying for guidance from the Holy Spirit, you will be able to meditate on the interpretation in the context of your particular life circumstances.

Pre-Marital Counseling

Premarital Counseling is an important way for engaged couples to learn more about themselves, their partners, and their relationship before they are married. It usually consists of about 5-8, 50 minute couples counseling sessions with a counselor. The goal is to impart new skills, wisdom and a foundation of understanding for continued growth beyond the counseling office. We want to make sure couples are prepared for marriage from a Biblical perspective and have wisely considered all the factors in deciding the right marriage partner for life. All couples wishing to be married by NCM must first complete the pre-marital counseling program. To inquire about rates and scheduling, please call us at 412-661-1919.

Weddings

"Let marriage be held in honor among all" Hebrews 13:4

*The first step towards a wedding ceremony at NCM is to arrange an initial interview with clergy. Marriage covenants must observe Scripture if they are to enjoy God’s blessing.

*A marriage is a covenant to be special treasures to each other and therefore faithful to each other. Interviewing clergy will inquire into matters such as your shared faith in Christ, previous marital experiences, family dynamics, and present living situations. According to God’s Word, it will be determined if you will be formally approved for marriage at NCM. For more information or to start planning your wedding with one of our ministers, please call 412-661-1919.

Important note:

*A covenant is a contract, an agreement, between two parties. When God is one of those parties, it is a very serious contract, a sacred agreement. In fact, God looked at the Old Covenant as a "marriage" contract between Himself and Israel. Through the prophet Jeremiah, He tells Israel, "I am married to you" (Jeremiah 3:14). He considered Israel to be His wife! Almost a millennium after the covenant's ratification, Jeremiah quotes God as He remembers the events of Mount Sinai: "the kindness of your youth, the love of your betrothal, when you went after Me in the wilderness" (Jeremiah 2:2).

In Ezekiel 16:8, the prophet Ezekiel, quoting God, connects the Old Covenant with marriage:

When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine.
